Angelia Ong from Iloilo, Philippines Wins 2015 Miss Earth

The Philippines' bet and Iloilo's very own Angelia Ong was named Miss Earth 2015 at the pageant's grand coronation night on December 5 at the Marx Halle in Vienna, Austria.

The 24-year-old Ilongga beauty bested 80 other candidates from around the world to earn the competition's first back-to-back victory in its 15-year history. Philippines' own Jamie Herrell also won Miss Earth 2014.

Angelia Ong shined in the Q&A portion which included the following questions:

Question: The slogan of Miss Earth for the last 15 years is "Beauty for A Cause". If you want to propose a slogan for the next 15 years, what would it be?"

Answer: If I were to make a slogan for the next 15 years for Miss Earth that would be "We will because We Can". I want to let everybody know that all things are possible and all things are feasible if we work together. We will because We Can.

Founded in 2001, Miss Earth aims to actively promote and get involved in the preservation of the environment and the protection of Mother Earth. The winner of the pageant will serve as the Ambassador to environmental protection campaigns worldwide.
