Mutya Buena

Mutya was born on 21st May 1985 in Kingsbury. She is a Filipina/British singer who has been performing music since her early childhood. She started by performing at various Barrio Fiestas and local performances. Mutya went on to start a band called the Sugababes with friends, Keisha Buchanan, and Siobhan Donaghy.

With the band, they became one of the most successful girl bands in the history of British music. They have had four platinum selling albums, six number one singles and a BRIT Award as well as a platinum selling greatest hits album.

After her time with the Sugababes, Mutya continues to write and record music as well as collaborating with artists including George Michael.

Mutya continues to be a remarkable role model for Filipinos around the country. It was truly an honour that Mutya was able to join us last year at the Guanabana charity gig we put on for victims of Typhoon Ondoy in the Philippines.

Mutya is also blessed with a lovely supportive family and long may her success continue.
